Upon arrival to Croatia, a language evaluation test is completed to give language instructors a chance to asses students' current language skills level and according to their recommendations, students are placed in one of the levels (beginners, intermediate or advanced) and everyone receives an individually designed study program. Seven day program includes 5 hours of language classes per day. Small group size, relaxed and friendly atmosphere aboard the vessel makes the learning experience unique, easy and a lot of fun! On the last day of classes, students take a final exam which is intended to be a way of summarizing the lessons learned. Primary attention is put on conversation and communication skills. Additionally, depending on the level of classes taken, basic knowledge of Croatian linguistics, understanding of common language mistakes, spelling and correct pronunciation is evaluated. Upon successful completion of the program a student is presented with a special certification of attendance.

The program language course is taught by qualified Croatian language teachers who are (1) Croatian native speakers speaking at least two foreign languages, (2) have a university degree in Croatian language studies (linguistic or teaching qualification) or/ and are Court Certified language translators and (3) have a minimum of 2 years teaching experience, excellent teaching skills and deep understanding of modern teaching methods.

The program offers 30 hours of language studies per week and uses the latest methods to enable students to master the language efficiently and enjoyably. Proficiency in conversation is the primary goal, but the lessons include practice of all four language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing). Special emphasis is placed on pronunciation, intonation, stress and vocabulary building. Small classes ensure maximum opportunity for participation and attention to individual student needs.
